I went dairy free for a couple months a few years ago and it didn't make any difference. My symptoms have seemed to get progressively worse over the years (although I'm sure some of it is stress-induced). A few friends and family members suggested I try cutting gluten from my diet to see if that helped at all. I did that for about a month or so and didn't notice any significant changes. I'm not sure if I just didn't stick with it long enough, but most people I talked to seemed to notice changes within the first week. Eventually I plan to go see a specialist, but unfortunately I can't afford that right now.

I'm so glad you commented though! I did find some pretty good GF recipes (although I'm not much of a cook) so it wasn't too terrible after the first week. I think what made it harder/more frustrating was that I wasn't seeing any changes.

Thanks!
AmandaAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15773942259930213539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2690427730864814832.post-40801575639755341082013-04-23T09:09:42.222-05:002013-04-23T09:09:42.222-05:00Hi Amanda,
Can I ask why you are going Gluten free...Hi Amanda,
Can I ask why you are going Gluten free? I have diverticulitis and it was recommended to me that I eliminate dairy/gluten since they seemed to be the culprits in triggering these episodes. I knew for sure that Cottage cheese and whole wheat breads seemed to be the big triggers so those were easy to eliminate and I must say my stomach has felt WONDERFUL! I've been 90% gluten free (having problems finding GF running fuel) but I still eat dairy. Have you tried eliminating dairy, or some dairy? I know its very hard incorporating new diet restrictions and I agree that GF is more expensive, but I have learned that it can be just as delicious. There are many websites out there and I can suggest one of my favorites for you if you'd like it. I have a facebook page, loveliferunners I also have a blog. loveliferunners.com and am on twitter @loveliferunners. If you're interested in any recipes or websites just send me a note!

Good luck and hang in there...overall eating whole 'clean' foods will be better for you in the long run :+)

Kathleenluvlivinhealthyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16320819535517471988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2690427730864814832.post-69604506810439140702013-02-10T15:31:23.359-06:002013-02-10T15:31:23.359-06:00Thanks for stopping by! Just remember, if you DO get rejection letters... each one is proof that you tried, and that's the first step to anything. Trying. I just had my first poem put in print at the end of last year, and I had lots of rejections prior to that. Poetry is so subjective too that you just have to keep sending your work out over and over again. Don't lose heart!
